Credentialing
AGPCNP-BC : Adult and Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner credentialed through American Nurses Credentialing Center.
To become a nurse practitioner you must complete your MSN which includes direct patient care with supervised independent practitioners. After completion of degree to become certified you must pass national certification exam within your practice speciality and continue to maintain continuing education requirements.
AHN-BC : Advanced Holistic Nurse Certified through American Holistic Nurse Credentialing Center
An Advanced Holistic Nurse must have an MSN, compete 500 hours of advanced holistic nursing practice as well as completion of 48 hours of continuing nursing education in holistic nursing as well as pass national certification exam and continue to maintain continuing education in holistic nursing.
IBCLC : International Board Certified Lactation Consultant certified through International Board Certified Lactation Examiners
To become an IBCLC you must have over 90 hours of lactation specific education, a formal educational background in health science, over 500 hours of hands on lactation care and have completed and successfully passed the IBCLC exam. Must continue to complete yearly continuing educational requirements.
La Leche League Leader: La Leche League International
To become an accredited La Leche League Leader you must have 12 months of personal breastfeeding experience, have supported the mission statement of La Leche, have a personal recommendation to become a Leader and complete approximately 9 months of mentorship by an accredited Leader.
